~마다 = Every

This Korean grammar point is used with time nouns. It is used to express the repetition of the same or similar, situation or behavior over set period of time. This is why it is best translated as “every…”

Examples of “~마다”

  • 서울 가는 버스 한 시간마다 있어요. (There is bus ever hour that goes to Seoul)
  • 마다 학교 갑니다. (I go to school everyday)
  • 사람마다 성격 달라료. (Every persons personality is different)
  • 하루마다 물을 2리터로 마셔야 해요. (Everyday  you should drink 2 litters of water)
