아/어 주다/주세요/드리세요

This grammar point is used to request an action from someone. It can be translated to “please or would you…”

The following are the different uses with regards to the high-rocky speech.

 

Basic ( friends or those younger then you): 주다 ~ 도와 좀 ? (Can you help me?)

Intermediate (Person you are first meeting or older than you): 주세요 ~ 도와  주시겠어요? (Can you help me?)

Advanced (To those who are much older than you or status is higher than you (Business/doctor/Teacher) or just being very polite): ~ 도와 드릴까요? (Do you need help?)

This grammar point will be learnt over time, just know this for now.

 

Asking for an action:

Basic ( friends or those younger then you): 주다 ~ 물 좀 ? (Do you need help?)

Intermediate (Person you are first meeting or older than you): 주세요 ~ 도와  주세요? (Can you help me?)

Advanced (Person you are first meeting or older than you): 주세요 ~ 도와  주시겠어요? (Can you help me?)

 

Giving an action:

Basic ( friends or those younger then you): 주다 ~ 물 줠까? (Would you like water?)

Advanced (To those who are much older than you or status is higher than you (Business/doctor/Teacher) or just being very polite): ~ 물 드릴까요? (would you like water?)
