This grammar point specifies that only one specific action has be been done and not any more, basically describing the word as “Just (action)”. It also shows that the action talked of is small and not big. (자고 싶을 뿐이다 = I just want to sleep). After action verbs or descriptive verbs with constants we use ~을 뿐이다. When a vowel is used we use ~ㄹ 뿐이다. For past actions ~었을 뿐이다.
지금은 아무 것도 하고 싶지 않아요. 자고 싶을 뿐이다. (I do not want to do anything. I just want to sleep)
지금 많이 배고파요. 밥을 먹고 싶을 뿐이다. (I am so hungry now. I just want to eat)
