Similar to “you should do something”

This expression is used to indicate what either the listener or a third party would or must do. it is attached to an action verb stem. After verbs ending with vowels other than 아,야,오, -어야지요 is used and after verbs ending with vowels 아,야오, – 아야지요 is used. After verbs with 하다ending -여야지요 is used. This grammar point is used in conversation with close friends or people younger than you.
